Ian Kitchenham, Managing Director, is Head of Capital Formation and Investment Committee member at Decarbonization Partners.

Decarbonization Partners is a joint venture by BlackRock and Temasek investing in leading technology companies, accelerating decarbonization across global industry and economies.

Previously, Ian spent over a decade building BlackRock's global Alternatives and Private Markets business, based in Hong Kong, Singapore, and London.

Ian joined BlackRock in 2006, including his time at Barclays Global Investors which merged with BlackRock in 2009.

Ian earned a BSc degree, with honours, in Economic History from the London School of Economics, and completed a Masters degree, with distinction, in International and Public Affairs (specialising in international energy policy and US-China relations) from the University of Hong Kong, and also holds a Graduate Diploma in Law (UK).
