Fernando Saavedra, CFA is a Vice President at Decarbonization Partners. In this role, Fernando is focused on investment sourcing, underwriting, execution and portfolio management.

Decarbonization Partners is a joint venture by BlackRock and Temasek investing in leading technology companies, accelerating decarbonization across global industry and economies.

Fernando currently serves as a board observer of ConnectDER (proprietary meter socket adapters) and Monolith (hydrocarbon pyrolysis).

Prior to Decarbonization Partners, Fernando was an Associate at Evercore's Energy Group. Fernando joined Evercore in 2019 and supported the creation of the Sustainable Energy and Technology team, advising companies in the energy storage, fuel cell and electric motor industries. Before joining Evercore, Fernando worked for 6 years at Prima AFP, a $13 billion AUM private pension fund in Peru, first as a research analyst covering Power & Utilities and Oil & Gas companies in the U.S. and Latin America, and then as an Equity Portfolio Manager focused on public equity investments globally.

Fernando is a CFA Charterholder, holds an MBA from Duke University and a Bachelor in Economics and Finance from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, where he graduated first place in his class.
